It must be for the hemi based poly?

Unless they sell something to set up a thermostat housing ect

It is for the "A" poly, but I don't know why he posted a pic of a Hot Heads hemi manifold. This was spearheaded by Gary Pavlovich. But I don't like to lay out any money until the product is done and proven to fit & work. Paying for it before the first one is even cast sounds risky.

Gary will have a lot of information, as he is involved with this new Poly intake. Hemi Hot heads had something to do with the design and that is why they look similar to their hemi intake. The same foundry is used for both of them. Gary is quite active on the 62-65 Moparornocar mail list. ..........................MO

I'l bet the Poly Weiand intakes come outta the woodwork now and get slapped on Ebag pretty quickly when they get wind of this, some are $1000 Buy-it-now.

I have spoken to Gary a couple of times and have also been monitoring the information in the Yahoo Poly Group. I believe the manifold is expected to be ready sometime between March and May 2014. You can pre-order them here: http://chryslerpower.com/webstore/Poly-SS-Manifold

The next project is going to be high-flow aluminum heads for the 56-66 Polys. I will go through my Poly Group emails to see if I can pull some summarized specs.

i can't see gary loosing an extremely high , great reputation , to put out a bad product . from what gary told me , he's working with the foundry to pull this off and even he didn't know why there
wasn't a disclaimer on the ad photo . if it's going to be like the mopar air gap intakes , it should be really functional and pleasing to the eye . i'm thinkin about my wife's BP goin through the roof , if
i decide to go with a presale order but i haven't heard back from gary on the 100% reality question as of yet -------------------------------------------------------later

I am with you there Chuck

I really like the open design, I do have a cast iron 4 barrel manifold that must take the smallest carb that was ever built, not sure about alloy heads though.

Wont look like a poly with different heads on it, especially if the wavey bit gets lost in the design, would just look like an la engine then

i asked gary if the the intake was really a reality . below is his answer . i've never done the mailing list thing so if someone else would be so kind as to do as gary has asked ----------------------------------------------------later

Yes, please post my reply and that AD information from Chrysler Power Magazine on the Forward Look Mail List. Yes, the manifold creation is not a myth but a reality and it will prove to be one excellent performing manifold for a “stock” Poly as well as a modified or Stroker Poly. I would encourage all who want a good manifold to do a pre-order at $399 while the price is low as it will increase to about $599. The $399 is an introductory price for those helping finance this manifold with their “pre-orders.” The estimate for manifold completion is 10-16 weeks.
Thank you,
Gary

I know Gary is merely advising on all of this and does not have a financial stake. And I think that all of the other Poly Speed parts are really dependent on how this initial batch of manifolds sale. In speaking with Gary, a 2x4 and 3x2 manifold could also see the light of day if there is a sufficient demand. I have been one of those holding out on putting in my order . . . never want to be the first guy, but I think that I am going to throw $400 at a pre-order to make sure all of this continues.

So this was just posted on facebook today by Chrysler Power:

"POLY PROGRESS-New manifold for the 318 Poly and its 277-326 derivatives now in ink! Deal closed with foundry yesterday... final prototype being assembled today... You can still order for $399..." &

"POLY PROGRESS-Final rough version before machining!!! This baby is HOT!!!"

Looking at how this is being put together. the mold for this would be a pain to make

I wonder if it would be easier to make it a 2 part manifold, as in, a valley cover plate with the thermostat housing and then the A poly manifold go onto that?

Of coarse, that will require 2 intake gaskets and there may be a problem with the spaceing between the heads?

Or forget the openess of it all together and fill the void?

Very interesting to me as I want to make a blower manifold sometime in the future.

I know, why blow a 318 poly when you can do that to a bb, but its more that it doesnt appear to have been done that interests me.

I received this email reply from Gary Pavlovich this morning regarding these new intakes,

It answers the questions I had on it and might help others so with Gary's permission ,I'll cut/paste it here.......

Terry,

Let me help explain to clear up any confusion as to the manifold project
undertaken by Chrysler Power Magazine.

The pictured HEMI intake in the magazine is the "insipiration" for the New
Poly manifold. The common features are that the New Poly manifold will
have a similar dual-plane runner layout with air gap design and generous
plenum to provide power to stock as well as modified/High Performance
277-318-326 Poly engines. However, the New Poly manifold is a totally new
casting mold that incorporates the required valley plate, water crossover
passages, temp sender/vacuum outlets, and water neck outlet. This will be a
one-piece totally "New" bolt-on Poly 4bbl. intake manifold that will far
outperform the Weiand #7503 four barrel intake with power "off-idle" to
6500rpm. It will provide increased HP & Torque on a stock Poly as well as a
"built" Poly; be it stock crank or 350-402 cubic inch STROKER Polys.

A new Poly intake has been my "backburner" intention for some years but
"life" always got in the way till Roland Osbourne from Chrysler Power
Magazine heard how great an engine the Poly is and decided to bring this
project to reality. He is the mover and shaker behind all the promotion of
this worthy endeavor and I have taken a personal interest to help provide
Poly technical information and our "needs" data as well as interfacing with
the foundry to help with Roland's project. I want to see our "Polyheads"
have a reasonably priced HP Poly intake manifold that "performs" and thus
end the high-priced E-bay nonsense of the Weiand 7503 that falls short of
our expectations and most of our needs.

I will try to visit and post on the Forward Look site but you may copy and
paste this e-mail if it will help clear some of the confusion.

Thank you,
Gary Pavlovich

My point exactly

I have a spare 4x2 manifold now that I was going to make an adaptor for, but it might be just as easy to make a new intake.

Only thing is, I would probably make it from steel (easier for me to weld), but I must finish the dodge before I play this game

Having been looking at doing something like this for some years now, I can tell you that the height of the coolant passage is a real issue.

It has to come out under or over the front runners. For a serious manifold, I would like to see it come from the rear as well, but that would be easier. Nevertheless, this will always dictate the height of the plenum because of the need to avoid air pockets in the cooling system.

They could put an air bleed nipple in there maybe ??? to eliminate air pockets, done it myself before in various problematic systems.

Sure, but it's an added complication and the owner has to:

A. Know that it's there.

B. Understand what it's for.

C. Use it as intended.

All of this without it corroding in place, of course.

Hello all. Has there been any updates the last 4 weeks or so on the status of this awesome venture? I have a 56 Plaza with the Poly 277 2 barrel. I have a dual quad intake for it, but I think for the stock little poly the 4 barrel would be better. I just can't see paying $600+ for an old $200 weiand manifold. I would much rather support a product like this one. Any updates would be great, and I plan to get signed up for this new intake. Thanks.

I pre-ordered and it's now mounted on my rebuilt 318. Only problem is the aftermarket oil pressure sender rides the edge of the manifold. It will be a while before the engine starts, but the manifold is Impressive to look at!

We discussed this a lot in the early days of the Poly project. Since Roland and I were in our 'golden retirement' age (Gary and Marty are still just 'kids', although GP is retired) we thought that a 'Social Security' badge might be used...but then homage was instead paid to the glory days of the Mopar Super Stock eXperimental days.

Roland's wife is trying hard to keep the fire lit on everything associated with the magazine and the manifold project. I talked with her just before Christmas and she was getting ready for a trip to California to have a meeting with the foundy guys in an attempt to get herself up to speed. She had very minimal involvement in the magazine/parts business prior to Rolands passing as she had her own career to deal with so the learning curve is going to be HUGE......RIP Roland.
