Expert Posts: 2519 Location: central Illinois | Not sure what "dry gas" is but if you want to remove water from gasoline use isopropyl alcohol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol Automotive[edit] Isopropyl alcohol is a major ingredient in "gas dryer" fuel additives. In significant quantities, water is a problem in fuel tanks, as it separates from the gasoline, and can freeze in the supply lines at cold temperatures. It does not remove water from gasoline; rather, the alcohol solubilizes water in gasoline. Once soluble, water does not pose the same risk as insoluble water as it will no longer accumulate in the supply lines and freeze. Isopropyl alcohol is often sold in aerosol cans as a windshield de-icer. Isopropyl alcohol is also used to remove brake fluid traces from hydraulic braking systems, so that the brake fluid (usually DOT 3, DOT 4 or mineral oil) does not contaminate the brake pads, which would result in poor braking Years ago when I worked in a garage we'd that the cars inside, add isopropyl alcohol so whatever water was left wouldn't freeze and send them on their way. The thermometer was reading -37c a couple days ago...which is almost the same in Fahrenheit! I know, I know...when you aren't used to the temperature, it is a shock.

Most Americans have convinced themselves that we live in Disneyland and "we have rights" to comfort and convenience, b!tching up a storm about anything that disturbs our "day at the park" vision of how life is "supposed" to be. I fully expect to see some "I've got rights" individual try to sue "winter" for damages and hardship some day.

A bunch of whiners! ! ! They would complain if you served them beautiful weather 365 days/ year. They look for something to whine about. After all, they are "entitled" to whine. Obama said so. It's another one of his lies . . . . . . .

Expert Posts: 1739 Location: Alaska | Take it from someone who knows: DONOT use 100% antifreeze. A 50/50 mix glycol and water is good to about -35 F. and a 60/40 mix is good to about -55-60 F. 100% glycol will freeze above 0 F.
