Hey Guys, I bought a set of 4 215/75R15 2 1/2 whitewall tires (B F Goodrich ) from a local reputable tire shop. Any speed over 60 + I could feel vibration in the steering wheel. Less than 100 miles on those tires. Had them rebalance it again. Better, but now the whole car was vibrating over 70 mph. Took it back again. they are chrome wire wheels so was trying not to have to put weights on the outside of the wheel. So for the sake of a balanced tire I agreed to let them put weights on the outside of the wheels. Problem showed up on that left frt tire. I personally watched that tire on the bal machine as the technition pointed out. I could see a slight wobble ( side to side ) and a up and down motion. The owner/manager got on the phone with BFG after about 15 mins of conversation with them, it came down to this : Customer will have to pay for another tire and it will be sent out next day. When the tire in question is recieved and evaluated and if they feel there is a problem with the tire they will issue a credit. Ya gotta be *hitting me ! I stayed pretty calm about the whole thing because I could see this guy was bending over backwards trying to resolve this problem. He looked me straight in the eye and said he didn't feel right about me having to pay for that replacement tire. When the new tire comes in he'l mount and balance it and put it on the car. And don't worry about anything. I was impressed !! If BFG doesn't warranty that tire, I don't think it is right or fair the tire shop should have to eat the price of that tire. I paid $300 for each tire X 4. That tire should be in tomorrow, so should be able to get it then. But I just have a funny feeling BFG is not going to be willing to warranty that tire. I hope I'm wrong. What do you guys think ? Jerry

I guess if the new tire cures the problem, then you know the culprit. At that point, the tire should be warranteed.

I second Chucks post - check the rim first of all - they can have a number of problems; out of round, skew, bolt pattern not centered with the outer diameter of the rim.

New "American made" rims tends to be yellow.

Then, when you're sure that the rim is ok, mount the tire and use balancing beads, type https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq263AYgyYg

I've driven two years without any balancing weights now and I'm very pleased with the function.
Then I added nitrogene instead of compressed air and now I have a very safe and reliable solution.

Swapping the tire to another wheel is easy enough to find out what wrong.
But, anytime a tire is balanced on a machine, you can pretty easy see what's wrong with what when it all spins around.
