In Australia. Not common to see this kind of thing here.

I heard the museum/dealer had a problem with the ATO ?

I have picked Lot 155 and 630 as my favorites, but lot 625 is more my price range!

I think this magazine article is the same car as the F for auction in the link above (lot 155).

What is your pick if you had a go?

Steve.

Yeah originally a white car, it went to Sleeping Beauties for a resto, owner ran out of cash, project sold then completed. Gosford bought the car for 65K in 2014? and had it for sale for 150K in 2016.

They were trying to work through a loop hole to avoid Luxury Car Tax and Stamp duty on imported collector cars, originally branded as a museum whereby if the car was imported for collector purposes for display LCT and Stamp duty were not applicable as long as the car was not sold within the first two years. So they would import cars put them in the shed then sell two years later (or at least transfer ownership). ATO saw this, they rebranded as Gosford Classic Cars but still didn't pay the outstanding taxes. The story is much more involved but that is a quick rundown.

Initially the cars were all listed as no reserve, which has since been changed, no doubt if the cars don't hit their number they will pop up at some other stage, you only have to look at the Brock Collection auction in Bathurst last October, very few lots were sold, even those seemingly knocked down never changed hands, buyer beware.

Sad, another really great car that no one will really be able to drive and enjoy.
