I'm rebuilding the rear on our 59 Firesweep & found the parts I needed ,including diff gears & axle parts from Andy Bernbaum. All of the seals have been installed.I have to remove the old axle bearings & install the new bearings. Is there a good way to do this at home ?I don't have a press. Thanks ahead.

If you have a die grinder with a cutoff wheel you can cut it off. First cut the bearing cage and remove the rollers, then very carefully cut the race. Cut at an angle and try not to cut into the axle. To install the new bearing, it would be best to take to a machine shop and have them press it on.

A couple bucks at a shop agreed. Don't know if they will press on a bearing you supply, most shops are quirky that way. Or buy a press and have it handy when needed, yet again.
