I have a 56 Ply with a 277 engine in it I want to change the automatic transmission to a stick
shift on the column . My understanding is there is one bell housing to fit the 277 and that
is only a 1956 277 no other years same as the transmission
Is that correct ? Any help will be appreciate
Thanks Alex

Sorry, I'm old and a bit slow. Are you wanting to change the transmission from a automatic to a standard with a column shift ?

The factory parts manual shows the bell housing as a one-year-only for the '56 Plymouth V8.

Yes from a automatic to a stick

And by "stick" do you mean "3 on the floor" or "3 on the tree (as in column)"??

(You are going to want to find a donor car for this conversion)
