Has anyone ever weighed a rolling chassis?
I'm picking up a '57 Chrysler frame with rear axle & suspension, front suspension & steering box and all brake drums in place.
I can roll it on tires initially, but need to lift it off the ground and over an immovable obstruction.
Thanks.

Motor & trans included or not? Without the motor & trans, 2 strong people can lift one side at a time, probably up to 3ft off the ground with the tires still on it. But it isn't easy to do. I have one sitting in the back of my yard right now.

Edit: Actually, that's 3ft total lift. The suspension will probably move 1/2 of that distance, so you will likely only get around 1.5ft off the ground unless you use some other method.

Right, no motor or trans. Good point about suspension travel.
Sounds like approximately 450 lbs, figuring I can bear hug and lift up a buddy my own weight (under 225#). Definitely better with 4+ strong people.
Thanks!
