I did serch the forum on this subject but I couldn't find anything.

As a matter of fact the spring inside the vacuum advance canister is what decides the degrres of vacuum advance and when that is applied.

I have a feeling that the spring size and strenght are relevant to the kind of engine, expecially to the compression ratio,  the camshaft and kind of carburetor.

It happens that on my 58 Belvie I have the "Super Pak option" which is a 250 camshaft ( I guess), 9,25:1 pistons, a dual exaust system and a AFB Carter a four barrrel carb.

This configuration I have,  demandes a strong vacuum spring but to my bad luck I have lost the stock one I had.

All vacuum canister on sale on Ebay are set without the spring.

Does anybody on this forum has the same engine with the "Super Pak" option and could tell me  the spring diameter and lenght  and, most important,  its strenght ?

If I knew those values, I could ask some specialized shop down here to build a similar one,

Checking at summit racing their canister for SB mopar, they seems to give a max of 5-7 degrees of crank advance, while on the arm of my stock advance module it is written 13, which are the required degrees of advance.

The best solution for me willl be to build a copy of the stock advance spring.....

Thanks for any help ......

If you have the vacuum pot with a threaded fitting for the vacuum hose, then you could take whatever spring from a simular vacuum pot. The vacuum advance can then be modified with spacer washers that makes the spring stronger.
This is how the factory tuned the vacuum advance….

Sorry for the delay in replying, Marc.
I think I will buy the last one you are suggesting, the one for dodge power pack. -
My problem, however remains the same: where do I get a stock canister spring...

Is anybody out there who could kindly sell me one of these darn springs????
I will be extreemely grateful............

Hello everybody...
I am still looking for a spring that fits my engine.

Or else, all I need is a vacuum canister that pulls 13 degrees .

My old stock vacuum canister arm was marked 13.....

Any help is welcome.
Thanks.
