I have got to the tower tail light lens repairs, I have several and am going to try and repair hair line cracks and rebuild one and then use it as a cast template. Most use AC glue from a syring but I need to know what type of plastic they are made from, any clues.

I've used Methylene Chloride (available from fibreglas supply shops) and a syringe to repair cracked plastic taillights, with reasonable results.

Thanks for that. I have a busted back up lens with the clear centre and cut through it to see the join but it looks like the red and white are the same piece. That cant be correct so I am assuming the glue used to put the clear in melted/melded them together, there is a definite lip on the clear where it was push in to the main red lens. I will recast a few of the good lens I have in red and clear and machine the centres out and work out a way to set the clear in, I bought a full set of tail lights from George Laurie and never saw my lenses that was 4 years ago, since he has had a stroke so I don't expect any thing.

I believe the reverse light lens is cast as one piece. I have read somewhere that the 57/58 DeSoto reverse light lens was (I’m sure I’m going to butcher this description) the first time that two different colors of plastic were molded in a single part. Ed Petrus may know more about this and may want to chime in.
