The other day I was sharing a discussion about my Desoto, the car show circuit and life in general with Craig of Mobile Parts. I mentioned I was preparing to install the new master cylinder I had purchased from him at Hershey. Craig mentioned it would be a really good idea to replace the brake light switch, as the original is now 60 years old and I'm literally replacing everything except the hard lines in my braking system. The switch had actually totally slipped my mind. I can only imagine the mess it would be to replace it after bleeding the brakes and everything being in service. I asked Craig to send me a switch and to let me know how much it cost. With the scarcity of parts like this one through normal channels, I am thankful I can turn to Craig and receive expert guidance as well as quality parts at affordable prices.

Last night I had an opportunity to sit at my desk, enjoy a bit of FLN forums and weed through some mail. In my mail was an envelope from Craig containing the switch and a note saying it was his pleasure to provide it to me on the house to thank me for purchasing all of my other parts from him. When was the last time a vendor anywhere did something that nice for anyone??? I read and re-read Craig's note just to make sure I was understanding it after a long, tiring day. Yes, I'd read it correctly. Unfortunately, it was a bit late and the sandman was calling but I wanted to take the opportunity today to publicly thank him for his kindness and professionalism.

Craig - you are a true gentleman of the highest order and I do consider you a true friend. I look forward to seeing you at Carlisle and treating you to a great steak dinner to repay your kindness!

To my fellow FL enthusiasts - do yourself a favor and shop with the man who has the knowledge and parts on hand at fantastic prices to keep our cars moving down the road. That man is Craig from Mobile Parts!

I concur, my experience with Craig was excellent and will recommend him to anyone looking for parts he can provide or he may have connections with someone who can if he can’t (he did that for me regarding emergency brake cables).

Thanks again, Craig.

Viper Guy, you are so correct. In this day and age when so many see only the dollar sign in a deal, the relationship between like-minded people who appreciate the cars of the past gets lost quickly. I believe I have not only found a great resource to keep my Desoto on the road, I've made a friend of a really good person. I enjoy our conversations and learn something new every time we get the chance to chat.

I'm glad to hear positive feedback on a vendor. I will definitely reach out to Craig the next time I need something.
