Location: N.W. Fla. | basically look through the listings for the right width (spring pocket in heads), height/spring bind, and spring pressure. No idea what the springs in my 331 are supposed to be in. |

Did you use Beehive valve springs? Do you remember what brand they are? No, dual springs. Just saying you have to look though all sources to see if any will work, doesn't matter if they were supposed to be in a GM or Ford either. May be a problem finding some w/o excessive pressures. |

Location: So. Cal | I don't know why you want to use beehive style. You reduce the weight of the retainer, but unless you are revving above 7000rpm, I don't think you will notice a difference. Just purchase some springs from Hot Heads. He can sell you any seat pressure amount you need. He may even be able to get you some beehive versions too if you ask him, but you'll need the retainers to match them. I had to ream out the size of the spring seats slightly to fit the new springs, but it wasn't a big deal. The machine work cost me $70. |
