Purchased this rusty black 56 300 B as part of a larger package of cars. I'm going to use the rear window for another hardtop I'm working on. Would like to sell the rest as a complete unit, but may be willing to part out if I can't find a home for the entire car. Still lots of good parts left, including correct 300 engine block and lower end, heads, distributor, transmission, gauges, trim, wheels jack and other misc items. send me a PM if you're interested or have additional questions.

That is because they wanted to know that it is a real 300B and not a converted New Yorker.

Not the best photo but it does show 3N56, plus four digits which should be correct.

.
Thank you for posting the VIN picture.

According the VIN, I can say your car has scheduled between April 12, 1956 and May 15, 1956…
The car has Power Steering, Brakes, Power Seat, but no Power Windows…
Also I can see options: Heater, Solex Glass, Dual Outside Rear View Mirrors, 6 Button Radio etc.
Unfortunately, I cannot see a Transmission (Powerflite or Torqueflite), Rear Seat Speaker, Antenna (Power or Manual)…
These options should be shown on the data tag…
Anyway thank you again!

Hi, I couldn't find the data tag. I looked on the lower front grill valance panel, but didn't see anything. The transmission dash control parts are in the trunk and the car is a powerflite.

The Powerflite vs Torqueflite question arose because there is some evidence that *SOME* late run 300Bs got Torqueflites.

I am guessing but I think that the 300B data tags should be on the cowl, passenger side, near where the hood meets the fire wall, as shown in this photo of a 56 Detroit-built Dodge La Femme:

Maybe this car has some repairing before you bought it or simply missing...

Anyway the VIN located here: on splash pan in front of radiator on driver side

There is a 56 New Yorker coupe for sale on craigslist that could be used to repair this car if someone wished to do so. It's in California too.
