I’m in the process of relubricating my speedometer wick and saw that my gas, temp and clock gauges were not wired. Anyone know what wires go in these locations. Pictures will help a lot. Thank you in advance.

Here is a better 57 Dodge diagram (I think that it is the same as the 57-58 Plymouth diagram - only clearer). The wire colours are marked. Just follow them from the battery to the ignition switch to the headlight switch, etc.

I am going to try to do some screen captures of your video tomorrow (Monday) and annotate them using the information that I just created/interpreted using the 57 Dodge diagrams and my electronic crayons (see below). All those wires running to the instrument lights are orange, not red. You should have switch black wires running to the temperature and fuel gauges (with 12V when the key is "ON") , connected to one of the four male spade terminals (probably with a covered female spade connector) and then a violet (purple) wire to the temperature sender from the separate female spade on the back of the gauge and a light blue wire to the fuel level sender from the separate female spade on the back of the gauge.

Okay. I think my job here is done (see below) (and by Dodge, I guess I mean Canadian Plodge).

Dave,
Thank you for your help. You have gone above and beyond. Are you Superman? Like I said this will not only help me. There are others who will benefit from your help. I not afraid to say I’m afraid of wiring. Do you recommend upgrading to LED bulbs?

You're welcome. No problem. Strangely I find this stuff "fun".

Do me a favour and post a photo of the dark blue wire with the white stripe or ?? after you've cleaned the wiring. It looks black but I know that it shouldn't be.

I am not afraid of wiring (I rewired my whole house by myself (and it hasn't burned down - in 9 years - yet ). I wired my garage this winter and put in 3000/4000/5000 W 240V heater and a tonne of lights and outlets. That was fun.

And I have played with car wiring (typically adding gauges, speakers, etc) so figuring out a wiring diagram is fun. Using electronic crayons is even more fun.

As for LED bulbs, I am considering it. Downside is you can't typically dim them so you don't want a bulb that is crazy bright.

The Plymouth cluster below has LED bulbs in it and it looks good. I've also added a photo of a Canadian Dodge (Plodge) cluster to show that it is pure Plymouth (except for the name)

The instrument panel wiring for 57 Dodge is not the same as 57 Plymouth and Plodge. Actually, not even close!
