Let's say you are putting you Forward Look car back together after months (or years?) of being apart. You discover that some of the hardware that you need is missing or it is such poor shape, you don't want to reuse it. What are your options? I know in the US you can try McMaster-Carr (doesn't work for Canadians - especially under Covid 19 conditions) or Auveco. In Canada, we can't access Auveco directly either but a Montreal firm, Geno Industries buys Auveco parts and repackages them (in smaller quantities). So if you can find the part in the Auveco catalogue, you will likely be able to find it one way or the other in the US and/or Canada.

For this example, I am going to look for a metal push-in ("blind") trim clip that is used where you can not access the back of the trim clip to install a nut (typically on a rear fender forward of the wheel house).

(As it happens, I have an empty Geno Industries plastic box that held two 17-9965 clips. As we will see these are the same as the Auveco 9965 clips).

For starters you need to go to the Auveco website:

https://www.auveco.com/

or

https://www.auveco.com/complete-auveco-catalog-catalogs

From the home page you can just click on [Click to View](the "Digital Catalog") or from the catalogs page, go to MORE and get the pull down menu and click on [Digital Catalog]

Either way, once the Digital Catalog has loaded, I suggest clicking on Index Quick View and then paging ( > ) to the area that you are looking for. In my case it was "Universal Moulding Fasteners" on Page 14.

Based on Page 14, it looks like I need to go to Page 824. Rather than scrolling to pg. 824, I discovered that if you type 824 into the page number box near the top of the page and hit enter, it will jump to page 824.

On page 824, I see what I am looking for 9965 (which is the Geno Industries 17-9965). Bob's yer Uncle.

On a side note, I once needed a bunch of Phillips screws for interior trim and could not find them in my local Geno Industries display rack. I found the part number that I wanted in the Auveco catalogue and talked to Geno Industries in Montreal (Hallo, Bonjour, Comment ca va?). I was told that they could get the screws (as a box of 100) but I would have to order from my local Geno dealer - which I did. Wasn't very expensive. Took a couple of weeks.

Hope this helps somebody, somewhere, sometime.

I think all of the above likely still holds true *EXCEPT* the main link to Auveco catalog has changed to this:

https://onlinecatalog.auveco.com/Auveco-Catalog/C/#

I just used the new link and the link to the QUICK INDEX

https://onlinecatalog.auveco.com/Auveco-Catalog/11/#

Using the QUICK INDEX I found the stamped metal self-thread cutting nuts used to hold the model scripts, e.g. DODGE, onto the car by the un-threaded studs on the back of the trim
