" This is a 1957 Dodge Royal Custom coupe with the Super Red Ram 325ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. It has just 25k Actual Miles! We just completed a frame-off restoration on it. It was a totally rust free example! It still has it's original, interior, glass and drivetrain! It comes with an extensive set of detailed restoration photos and it's original broadcast sheet. It rides on a set of Truspoke wheels with brand new radial whitewall tires! If you are looking for an iconic 50's styled MOPAR this car will definitely fit the bill!!! "

It's a nice car but the "original" broadcast sheet is from a 2167 2dr Suburban (that we have discussed previously) so the BS starts there but I don't know where it ends.

(Previous discussion of the 2167 broadcast sheet :

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=74413&... )

The cowl data tag (which has been painted over way too many times) shows 2286 which is correct for a 57 Dodge 2dr Custom Royal Lancer. So why a) paint over the cowl tag so many times? and b) say the 2167 Broadcast sheet is original to the car? Doesn't make sense.

Well Dave the cowl tag doesn`t have to be overpaint more than once when you use heavy glossy layers. I have done that mistake myself , that doesn`t mean there is any foul play.

I suspect the broadcast sheet was errantly included with the car's documentation at some point and the current owner doesn't understand the error. Appears to be a legit CRL from what I see, but that price is incredibly optimistic in this market.

Yes. Price is very optimistic. But to buttress the seller's claims, the trunk mat is original. These are unobtanium. Also, steering wheel is super nice. Which adds to its cred as an original car. Yes, I'm questioning why the data plate was painted over so many times. A little chemical stripper could have removed all the paint before painting. Build sheet probably came with the car and seller didn't know how to decode.

I'm willing to believe that, yes, this was a low mileage car to begin with, assuming that nothing was left out of the photo collection.
