I actually had something similiar with a 1972 Duster. I went to
change the distributor cap and discovered that I could not get to
it as the right side engine mount had become oil soaked and
collapsed. I had to jack up the right side of the engine to get
enough clearance to replace. By the way, it was a slant 6 - 198.
Only the was not ANY noise at all. Great car - had 350k on
it.
