Hi, all
Some time ago there was someone who reported on a way to fill in the
crevasses on his steering wheel. For some reason, my own 58's steering
wheel's damage has really begun to deteriorate, or I have just begun to
notice it. It has always had a quarter inch gap at the 10 o'clock position,
probably from expansion caused by the intense Texas heat. Now a crevasse is
opening up pretty much all the way across the top. Got a little flake in my
finger today. I don't even know what the material is. Some kind of
polished plastic, bakelite, maybe, in s nice pale green. Not translucent.
Anyhoo, if anyone out there has some idea of what would be a good material
to fill the yawning gap, and the best way to apply it, I would really
appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Hugh
