Hi All,
This is a note to publicly tell Mike and Chris Trettin that they are doing a
superb job! They have recently added some pages that include some info on my
'83 Imp, Buddy Arrington's NASCAR Imp as well as the Chrylser Installation
Manual that came with the Carburetor Retrofit kits for the '81-'83 years.
The link to the Retrofit manual is:

If you want to see my car it's:

I bought my car in 1990. I had always wanted one ever since I sat in one in
the showroom, back in 1981. ($18,000 was WAY too much to spend back then!)
The original front bumper was really corroded, and the chrome trim was quite
worn around the wheel wells and under the doors. I replaced the bumper and
trim pieces, as well as the grille with brand new parts. I bought new
crystals for the opera lamps too. I did it while they were all still
available (but EXPENSIVE!)
Of course this was when my kids were little. No way I could afford it today.
The car was repainted when I bought it (not a very good job). I definitely
needs new paint. (It looks a lot better in the photos!)
The retrofit manual came from Rick Sutton in Massachusetts who also belonged
to the old Imperial Owner's Club International that Joe Rezzino ran. That
was a great club. I have a few of the newsletters that have some good info.
I may scan some stuff from them.
As far as Buddy Arrington goes. He was the last to run Mopar products until
last year when Dodge got back into NASCAR. I belonged to his Racing Club,
where your dues went right into the race car. I went to Pocono in1984 and
got some video of him racing the Imp. His Imp is now on display at museum at
Darlington (Lowe's) motor speedway. The thing I remember best about that
race was how different the sound of the Imp's engine was compared to the
other cars. It had a much lower, throatier sound to it.
Well, that's all. (Hope I didn't bore you!)
Thanx again Mike and Chris!
