Removing Chrome

["1966 Imperial Crown Coupe" <crown_coupe@xxxxxxxxxxx>]

   What is the best way to remove the body chrome off of a 1966 Imperial?  I 
was told tha there was a nut on the end of each of the chrome strips and to 
take them loose.  Then the chrome would slide off.  I tried that on the door 
but it didn't seem to work.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
