To answer the question posed by Dick B. My 1968 Crown Coupe came with the
Holley. I have since changed it out to a Carter carberator which I purchased
from Summit Racing. Several years ago there was a discussion thread on the
availability of carbs from Summit. I still have the original Holley in a box
should I ever decide to go to "strictly original" again. I know a master
mechanic that worked at a local Chrysler dealer from the early 60's to the
early 90's. He said he could rebuild the Holley for me, but as he said, "We
used to call them 90 day wonders. I can rebuild it but you would need it
done again in 90 days." So I opted for the Carter. Interestingly he
recommended going to the T-quad because they run cooler and can tolerate the
underhood heat without vaporizing the fuel in the bowls. (I bet this will
generate some discussion!)
So add me to the original Holley-built list!
Have a great day!
