Imperial VIN Info - sources for pre 1958?

In working on the website, one of the webmonsters is trying
to compile VIN reference info for all years.  

The project is TOP SECRET, so can't tell more right now,
but I would appreciate it if anyone that has information
that would help in this area to please email me off list.  

We are seeking 1926-1957 VIN decoding information and
reference material.
