I think you're talking about my recent post. Mopar alternators are not hard
to find, but I'll tell you what is. Brackets to adapt a Mopar alternator to
an Early Hemi are non-existent as far as I know. I however have three
different catalogs for early Hemis and all feature mounting brackets for
modern GM-type alternators. I would love to keep my Imperial 100% Mopar.
Right now I'm in a dire predicament. You see because of my stupidity, I lost
my original generator bracket. According to fellow 58 owner Hugh Hemphill the
bracket will be hard to find. I consider Hugh somewhat of an authority on 58s
as he has done plenty of work on his car. This is how is goes, when me and my
father finish the engine work on the 392, two things will happen. Either I
will find an original bracket and mount my original generator or I will buy
one of these brackets and mount a GM alternator. The one thing that I will
not do is let my engine sit inactive while I go off on a possibly fruitless
search for a generator bracket. I'm sorry if I offended someone. Bye for now.
