The '55 is totally different than the '54. The '55 has a
suspended brake pedal with the MC on the firewall. The '54
pedal goes through the floor to the MC under the floor on
the frame rail.
The '55 is a one year only setup, with a combination master
cylinder and booster that works on a displacement process.
A complete '56 system could be retrofit to a '55, but
there's nothing on either compatable with a '54. '54 was
truly the end of an era.
