IML: 56 IMPERIAL DOOR PROBLEM

Well I got the 56 2-door home today. I hope some one can get the drivers door open. It was missing the stricker plate so I put one on not knowing the rest of the internals are missing on the door lock assembly. Well I cant get it open. The button you push in on the outside is not hooked up to anything. I guess the door latch is messed up. Any ideas how to get her opened back up?
