I do know that a projection will not save you as to pass a smog test. because it requires a higher flowing engine than stock to pull the hp and torq the product say's it can do. also if using a EFI kit like the one I have you will need to understand a few things about it first. all efi must have a proper fuel supply, < new fuel pump comes with kit's . and a computer managment system to monitor air and fuel ratios and to regulate the timing advance or retard. this is simplified by the aftermarket companys by making the kits adjustable. and since most kits are a universale design they can be modified to be used on most anything , but remember the ECM chip that comes in the system kit, will be calibrated for the higher hp and torq, than a stock engine. I have never used my kit on any stock engine. and not sure how the stock 413 will run with it , ( probly wont be able to dial the system in corectly) unles the heads and cam along with a few other parts get upgraded. edelbrock
makes the 2 kits for big block chryslers a 450hp and a 500hp.. I strongly suggest if the engine you have doesn't make 450- 500hp , you should experience these problems< ; engine should start at first and start fine but will be running way to lean. even if you adjust everything it's still going to be to lean. as it will be trying to feed (sheep in a wolfs clothing.)
your engine . i have found that when first installing EFI in my old cordoba . and I first used everypart in the kit, and I was closing the stock hood after weeks of building the engine that went into it. the hood wouldn't close. even without the aircleaner on. instead of tearing out everything, that was installed in the car , and i didn't want to cut the hood . I first removed the INTAKE manifold. and carefully thinking over what a mistake it was to install the EFI on that car. but I didn't want to remove all the wiring from the car . I putt a stock carb and intake back on the car,, then a few day's later
I figured a way to use most of the EFI and make everything else work...so I serched and found a real nice factory aluminum intake the i repainted to match the engine , and i found a throttle body that I could use. but needed bigger injectors. the guy's at autozone helped my find injectors to fit the TBI unit.i hade to bend the linkage brackets a little but looks good , the edelbrock EFI used mpfi 8 injectors and I was going to use a TBI that had 2 injectors. so I cut and modified the harness and I used some wiring from a junk TBI car to make things work.. fuel injection seems a little intimidating to people but it's not that complicated to understand and some people get intimidated with carbs.

I know the factory did carb conversions on the '81-'83, (Including my Guido) but has anyone here done a re-conversion, using a modern EFI setup, such as pro-jection? It seems like the mechanics of it would be fairly straight forward, but the electronics could be a pain. I would love to try and integrate a system onto Guido, and still have the display computer for MPG and all that. Also, being CA, it would have to pass CARB regs. Comments?
