RE: IML: Hood Pad from Gary Goers

The hood pad is not a place where the crooks live, it is the soft insulating pad that keeps the paint on the hood from blistering from the heat of the engine, and also makes the hood sound nice is solid when you close it.  Of course it deadens the sound of the engine, both to the outside world and to the interior of the car.

I’m not aware of anything similar for the trunk lid, except on the 81-83 coupes.  What year car are you asking about?

Dick:

Can you define hood pad for me?  Is that the pad underneath the hood?  Also, what about the stuff under the trunk lid...got a name for that?  Does Gary Goers make it?

Thanks in advance.

Just a report to let you all know that I received the hood pad I ordered for
my current project (a 67 Crown 4 Dr. HT) in 4 days, from time of order to
receipt of merchandise.

As with everything else from Gary, it is absolutely beautiful, a perfect
fit, and very reasonably priced.

The whole transaction couldn't have been better!
