IML: Valley Pan

Charles,
I recently had this part of my car apart. Do you mean that a hole exists so
that the cam and lifters and pushrods are exposed to the open air
environment under the intake manifold? This should not be the case. This pan
seals off this area from dirt getting into the valley of the motor. Can you
describe this differently if this isn't the case?

Should there be a hole in the valley pan at the crossover in the center of
the manifold? Mine has had one "cut" out is this better or worse or will not
matter?
