Re: FW: IML: Joe's '61

Mike:

From what I found out from the current owner, Joe is at least the fourth owner.  I know where the previous owner lives, and you ever want to contact them, let me know and I will get the number for you.  I remember that the guy that owned the car last bought it for his son as a resto project before his son became a minister, and it was purchased from his neighbor who used the car to commute to Hanford ever day to work (careful, that car may glow in the dark...LOL just kidding).  Apparently, he had owned the car for many years, but the man said that he believed that it had been sold previous to that.

The really great news about Gertrude was that since the car had been owned by his neighbor, he was well aware of how the car was treated.  He told me that the man changed the oil every 1000 miles religioiusly, and in fact that he used to ask his neighbor if he could have the used oil since it still looked like new.  Nearly all of the miles should be highway since the car lived right next to the freeway, and it was strictly his commutor car.

Didn't you also buy your car from H&H too Mike?  I just got clear title to my Imperial from there...whew!

Take care all, and Joe...enjoy the ride!

Joe,

I'm really enjoying reading about your '61 !!!

My '58 is also from the Prosser, Kennewick area. Clint and Laurie's '59 is also from that same area, and their car has the fender mounted turn signals, and my '58 is half '59!!!....... the more I think about this the more I believe that maybe these cars were all owned by the same person!!!...... do you know the previous owners name??..... there must have been a big Imperial dealership somewhere in that area. I hope to get some pics of my car to the webmonsters hopefully within the next week....... I'm still writing my text for the IML site too....... I'm a SLOW typer.......

CHEERS for now,

Michael Howlett
