Re: IML: What to use for cleaning

Throw the whole lot in a milk crate, take it to an automotive machine shop and ask them to put in their hot tank. That will remove all the gunk except the rust. Be sure to inventory what you bring and what you pick up.

I have begun the process of rebiliding the front end on my '59 Imperial.
Yesterday I got everything pulled off and labeled and got the center

All these parts are covered in massive amounts of 45 year old gunk that
I swear could safely be used to hold a jumbo jet together instead of
rivets.  I used an entire can of comet just trying to get it all off me
after the day was done.

So what do yall use to clean this kind of stuff?  I normally use simple
green or gunk and this stuff just laughs at both of those products. I
want it all to be pretty and clean before I try to put it back together
again.
