Try some lacquer thinner on the painted chrome. It shouldn't be too difficult to remove. Sorry, I haven't tried powder coating yet. It's on my list of things to try, but not high on the list. I would think it would work, but I don't know. Try checking the message boards at Caswellplating.com. They sell plating and powder coating supplies. Someone there may have tried this already. I have to admit I'm curious about what you are working on. Somehow I think it may be more Salon material than the main list. I'd like to see where you are going with this.
