I have followed the long thread about body construction with some interest.
I recently sold a 75 for two hundred as a parts car-it had rusted through badly
at the rear haunches below the vinyl top cover.The rusted out portion extended
all the way into the trunk. The car had been parked outside for several years
after the transmission failed. I think the main weakness with these cars was
rust out, especially in Northern climes-and when a unibody suffers from severe
rust the entire integrity of the car is at issue. This is not as much of a
problem with body-on-frame design. Trying to repair a rusty unibody is a real
project-
