I have a 1949 Mercury 3/4 ton pickup with the flathead V8. When I got it there was coolant in the oil although it ran ok. Could not figure where it was coming from. Finally pulled the pan as last resort and there was a very visible crack in the water jacket allowing coolant into the oil.
Cleaned it up as best as I could and manually applied JB Weld. My dad just shook his head.Never leaked since and that was over ten years ago.Sometimes you get lucky.

Taking a digital picture will help. One way to seal this is the following. Get
a powerful vacuum pump that can pull 3-4 psi of vacumm or more. Insert the
vacum pump in the raidator hose and plug the hose that admits coolant from the
radiator (lower hose). The idea is the vacumm pump sucks the coolant space.
Then, by applying the JBweld, the vacumm will suck the JBweld in the crack. It
only needs a few seconds of vacumm. That may work. But we will have to see the
crack.
