Knowing what I do now about Electroluminescent Lighting and tube radios, the effect of moisture on door panels, and card board parts in the rear compartment, I'd say that it was pretty much a total loss.

They probably dried it out and sold it to some poor unsuspecting individual as a "demonstrator". Same guy ten years later would tell you "those darn Imperials never were any good".
