Ethanol is actually an octane booster, usually made from agricultural products. Methanol is a another product used by some gasoline companies to boost octane. Which is why that sticker is on Amoco's pumps permanently. Do not know about ethanol, but I know Chrysler advised against the used of Methanol in the 1981-83 EFI Imperials.
