Hello all,
Detonation, no. I can
tell you that I have had zero issues with running 87 octane as long as I add the
Lucas. The way it was explained to me, and keep in mind I am not a
mechanic, is this. High octane does not lubricate the upper cylinders,
rods, or lifters, thats what lead in the gas was for. The reason we
run high octane is because is somewhat of a substitute for the lead not being
there but in time it will still burn out the valves. Lucas is not a lead
substitute but lubricates the valves better than lead did. That is why I
have never needed a valve job, I don't run high octane.
I am sure that my explaination is very
incomplete, I don't know the spacifics of it, I wish I did. If
you have any further questions feel free to write off list at cchmaness@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
