IML: Gas Prices Website

Hi Everyone,

First of all, PLEASE don't let this devolve into a
discussion of gas prices. I just wanted to let
everyone know about a website I recently found that I
think may help us all save a few $$$ on gas for our
Imperials. :)

So check out http://www.gasbuddy.com/ and then select
your state. This site shows current gas prices in all
states, and is searchable by town (use the "Search For
Gas Prices" option on the left). Anyone can create a
free account with this site and post gas prices for
any gas station located anywhere. I'm already using
the Georgia site (http://www.georgiagasprices.com/
--and each state has a similar site) and posting
prices for my area whenever I have a chance.

Once you've created an account, there's also a "fuel
logbook" feature that lets you keep track of all your
gas purchases and which automatically calculates your
vehicle's miles per gallon. This is not only handy to
keep track of how much you're spending on gas, but mpg
is a good indicator of the health of your Imperial's
engine.

Since I'm planning for the Anniston, AL Packard and
Imperial Meet this weekend
(http://www.imperialclub.com/Events/AnnistonSpring05/),
I'll be using this site to find the cheapest gas along
the way. Even locally, I'm finding there's usually a
10 to 20 cent per gallon variation among the gas
stations close to home -- and every little bit helps!

Again, I don't mention this site to start a discussion
of gas prices (the Imperial Salon would be a great
place for this topic --
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/OIC-ImpSalon/),
but simply to let folks know about a resource which
might help save some $$$ for their Imperials.

Hope this helps!

Elijah
