Re: IML: More 60 Brake help- going crazy!

It shouldn't be necessary to push the pedal all the way to the floor to stop the car. I would say that the normal amount of travel is about half way to the floor, but at slow speeds the car should stop well before having to depress the pedal that much.

I think you may still have air in the lines. Bleeding the brakes on these cars can be tricky, and make take a while. The only way I have found to successfully bleed out ALL of the air is to use a little jar of fluid at each wheel cylinder with a tube connected to the bleeder going into it. Have someone in the car pump the pedal while the tube is submerged in the fluid. Keeping the master cylinder full, you need to watch the fluid as it exits the tube and goes into the jar. If there are any "fizzy bubbles" in the stream, then you are not done bleeding. You may have to go around the car three or four times spending several minutes at each wheel cylinder to get it right.

Having a pressure bleeder that attaches to the master cylinder, with an endless supply of fluid is the easiest way, but I haven't seen a bleeder like that anyplace in 30 years.
