RE: IML: 67 turn signals

Some times the switch actes like it is good, its not:replace the brake switch at the peddle;its cheep, easy and its probable the problem.Do you need cornering lenses:George laurie has very good replacements, there resonable. The brake part should be at any BIG A auto store.

Hi all,
I need some help; I lost the brake lights on my 67 Lebaron two days ago. I have 12 v from the batt buss to and thru the brake light switch at the pedal under the dash, I followed the white wire from the brake light switch to the connector going into the steering column and have 12 v there as I should when the brake pedal is depressed. Both left and right blinkers work fine as well as the running lights on the back of the car. This leads me to the unpleast conclusion the I have a bad turnsignal switch (Ihave the tilt/telescopic wheel) . I called all the auto parts stores without any luck of course and a couple of souces I found on the web, no luck, the nice lady shee-mar (business that specializes in hard to find turn signal switches) told me they had none and could not get any more, but had they carried them longer than anybody else, and had no recommendations on where to go from there, unless one pops up on ebay.this is more of an achlies heel than even the 67-8 brakes. I will not drive a car w/out brake lights. Does anybody have any experience with repairing this switch or is there another one for a different car that can be made to fit with some modification or use some parts out fo them? Any help would be appreciated as we had a rash of auto brakedowns this last week and we are down to 1 car (the wipers on my other imp and pick-up quit last week and have so far defied repair (my wife must take me to and from work in addition to herself ). Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated, thanks, mike Becker
