Re: IML: New 73 & Auto-Temp #@!!!**!

The AutoTemp can be a challenge to diagnose. Take it
slowly. Be methodical. Walk away if you get
frustrated.

We need more information to have an idea what the
problem is, but you mention one click which suggests
to me that your compressor is coming on, but your fan
is not.

When the AutoTemp is turned on, two clicks should be
heard. The first click is the yellow compressor
switch. It takes less vacuum to activate. The second
click is the green fan switch. The fan switch takes
quite a bit more vacuum to activate, and can't be
tripped when the AutoTemp system has a signifigant
vacuum leak.

Look for loose or cracked vacuum lines. Check the
connection at the back of the selector switch in the
dash. The selector itself can leak if the backplate
has seperated from the switch body. A sneaky place for
a vacuum leak is the vacuum switch for the fresh air
door.

Good luck!
