Re: IML: Tranny fluid for my '55

Jim;
   The original fluid in the Powerflytes was a transmission fluid listed as type "A". The modern equivailent is Dexron 2 Mercon, usually the bottles mention what it is also suitable for. You can find Dexron in just about any store that has an automotive section including Walmart.

Subject: IML: Tranny fluid for my '55

Hi all-

I was reading the repair manual for my 1955 Imperial sedan and it states that SAE 10W should be used in the transmission.  What is the preferred and workable modern-day equivalent that Powerflite owners are using?

Any tips appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
