RE: IML: 2-tone in 1955?



If my memory serves me; I recall from the book Imperial The Post-War Years, that per Virgil Exner's influence, only contrasting roof colors would be allowed in '55. Indeed this was the case with my original paint '55 coupe with a coral top on titty pink body. Forgive me for not quoting the official color names. I also am aware of a dark green toped and light green bodied '55 sedan in a field near my home.

I looked for a green on white or turquiose on white
1955.

Did not find an image on the website.  Was 2-tone an
option in 1955, or were the cars mostly solids?
Anyone got a good photo of a 55 in 2-tone other than
the gold on white?

I saw some 56's, but understand that this was a
different animal color-wise.

The guys over at signature models want to know...
