IML: Just Inspected 1968 Imperial on eBay....

This car is local to me and I just took a look at it this morning.

I think this is the same car that was listed on eBay from CO about a year
ago.  

Does anyone know the history on this car?

Here's what I found today:
This 1968 is (very) rough around the edges.  The paint is completely blown
and there is some minor body damage (bondo and dent pull marks on the
passenger door as well as a crease along the top of the driver's side rear
quarter panel) not disclosed in the auction. There is light surface rust all
over the car where the paint has wasted away (especially at body line
creases).  The leading edge of the hood looks to have been sand blasted by
road debris (2-4mm pock marks all over).  The pot metal is all there and is
in decent (if not good shape).  The passenger side bumperlet has been
de-chromed and is rusting on the bare surface.  Otherwise, the chrome is in
decent shape.

The good news is that I did not see any tell tale signs of rust through
anywhere on the car.

Weather stripping is dry and cracked and the carpets at the rear seats and
trunk on the driver's side were wet this morning.  There were leaves and
other small debris logged in between the top and the body molding.

The interior is fairly complete and the dash pad is in good shape.  The
copper (or is that bronze?) detailing is coming un glued on several pieces.
The trim on the drivers door was screwed onto the door panel.  Aside from
the tear shown on the passenger seat, there are small seam splits at the top
of both the front seats.  Most of the interior plastic is there.  Both door
panels are loose and the driver's armrest is coming off the panel.  Other
than that the interior need new carpeting, and a major detailing.

Although the wiper/wash and antenna motors work, none of the other dash
accessories were working.  Likewise, The headlights, turn signals and side
lights at the front of the car were not functioning.  I was not able to get
any of the window and door locks to work either.  (You think it might be
fuses or could it be something more serious like the wiring harness?)  The
top did function as expected.

Mechanically, the current owner appears to have done the basic "get it
running" work on the car by having changed belts, etc.  As disclosed, it
appears to have a rebuild rear end and drive shaft.

Overall, I was un-impressed for the asking price.
