The main reason that painters don't like silicone is
that it will cause "fisheyes" to develop in freshly
sprayed paint.

When you're painting a car and that nice, smooth layer
of paint you just sprayed on 30 seconds ago starts
developing little spots/fisheyes, you say bad words. 
Typically, you say lots of bad words.
