I had a 58 Imperial and I refurbished the radio myself. Having been
an electronic technician for the past 35 years, it presented no problem.
The 58 radio is fairly simple and I upgraded the output transistor with an
improved type. It never gave me any problems, and the footswitch remote
tuning worked equally well. I would be glad to refurbish any radio
from these imperials if asked for a nominal fee ...Mike Jobe
