Hello and welcome! WOW! You are the owner of the dealership where my 68 Imperial Crown 4 door hardtop was originally sold. I bought the car in 1989 from the estate of M. C. "Pete" Bradley of Fallbrook CA. Pete was a long time friend of mine, and a fellow car collector; I was very pleased to buy the car from his widow after he passed away. Pete had told me that he had the car specially painted (by your dealership) to match the car used in the October 1967 magazine ads (Gold but with a cream accent panel between the rocker panel trim moldings). This was not a factory optional paint scheme, but was used on the car used for pre-introduction photos - in the Oct. 6 1967 Time magazine for one (I have a copy of that ad), which shows a San Diego area upscale neighborhood in the background. I have always wondered if my car is the exact one used for the Time ad (and the other magazine ads using the same photo. If this is the case, it is very likely that it was obtained through your dealership. For a recent photo of my car, you can click on: http://users.sdccu.net/dickb/68lswithme.jpg I apologize for my geeky pose, but the picture does show the cream color in the accent panel. The house is not the same site as used in the ad photo, but the general neighborhood is about the same (the section of town that is just west of the 163 and south of I-8. In case you have records going back that far and would like to check, the VIN of the car is YM43K8C171578. Pete's company is probably the original owner listed (I believe it was called "Axiom Engineering". Anyway, it is really nice to have you in our group - I'll look forward to meeting you in person. As you may know, there is a very active group of Imperial owners in your area called the "Southern California Imperial Owners" - we have about 4 gatherings per year at which you will see some of the best Imperials in the country!
