I have had duals on at least three 81's including one with EFI
and it works just fine. All you have to do to have them run properly is move the
gas tank one notch to the right on the straps. This will allow the exaust pipes
to be tucked up by the frame rails. and come out the back in a natural position.
Cannot address what removing the cats will do since I got rid of the ones on the
Y pipe but kept the down line ones.
