Here's my advice: Go to your local Chrysler dealer and order the Mopar Performance electronic ignition conversion kit. It includes a new distributor, converts your car to electronic ignition, and many Mopar clubs even allow them as "correct" in judged shows, if that matters to you. You'll need to mount the "orange box" to the firewall, but you can match the location from 1972 (I'm sure someone here or the IML has a picture.) And parts are available from any Mopar dealer.

Did it to my '72 Charger when I needed a new distributor and am 100% happy with the result.

but found them right away with the ancient 12-volt
scope in his attic!  So there.
   Any recommendations?
