Eventually the starter grab and start the car. Very likely could be the starter relay, which lives on the driver's side fender, right next to the washer fluid container. The next time it clicks and doesn't want to start, you can "jump" it by laying a big screwdriver across the contacts (one contact is a large stud, the other is a small bolt). If it starts that way, the relay is likely your problem.
