Get yourself a service manual. There is quite a bit of info on the turn
signals. When I purchased my current 69, the sequential signals blinked
verrrry sloooow. I got an NOS sequential motor for about $85.00 & that cured
that part of the problem. I also replaced one of the relays above the brake
pedal. It turned out that the problem with the original sequential motor was
that it was full of water from the roof leaking into the trunk. That motor
is mounted in the trunk on the drivers side wheel well.

I also recently (2 years ago) purchased a 1969 Imperial. This is a 2 door
LeBaron. I removed the vinyl roof to repair some minor rust at the front
of the roof and discovered major rust under the fiberglass rear window
insert that I was not remotely aware of. My sequential signals also do
not work as designed. A previous owner set them to just flash on and off
which is fine for me now. There is an aftermarket kit available for about
$90 which is supposed to fix the sequential flashers. I may get to that
eventually or design something myself.
As I stated in an earlier message, I am in the process of figuring what
to do with this car. I really want a convertible and it may end up that
way. Pretty much all of the rust on the car would be cut out in a
convertibilizing process.
Good luck. Let us know how your signals go.

Self-Introduction: I always thought the Imperials were way cool rides
but
was actually looking for a '71 or '72 Sport Fury. Ran across this '69
Imperial and the rest is history. Major problem with the vehicle is
that the
signals don't work. They are the sequential signals. No one around
here even
has a clue hoe=w to make them work again. The vehicle is my
retirement
present. I plan on retiring in about ten years and hope to have
itcompletely
resored by then although the only major project will be a fresh coat
of
paint ansd a new vinyl top. Original paint and top showing it's age.
