IML: mystery tubing

Hi,
I've a '57, i know very well the underparts of my car and i never
saw a ("rubber") tube . Ther's no tubing on the Torqueflite, the
vent is only a small part at the upper rear of the transmission
and ther's no part in the parts manual that indicate a hose is needed.

But, but .. ther's a tube like you're talking about in the engine
area : Ther's a tube (with insulated asbetos wrraped around) which
goes from exhaust manifold to the carb . This tube runs at the
rear of the cylinder head and along the intake manifold. It is
only inserted in the exhaust manifold (at the bottom) so it could
remove itself very easily ..
Take a look at this tube and follow it from the carb to the rear
of engine.
